Watercolor Painting for Young Artists (ages 10-13)

January 2 & 3, 2025

(10am - 2pm)

In this short two day camp, young artists will explore the medium of watercolor! We will experiment with color, value, and different watercolor techniques to create texture. Through both student-led experimentation and demonstrations, young artists will gain confidence in expressing their creative visions and painting from life or photographs. Students will hone their skills with this unique material.

All materials are included in the cost of the camp. Students must bring lunch.

Digital Painting and Illustration for Young Artists (ages 10-13)

January 2 & 3, 2025

(10am - 2pm)

Instructor: Alain McAlister

In this short two day winter camp,Young Artists will learn the basics of the drawing program Procreate, using an iPad and an Apple Pencil to create digital paintings. We'll explore how to use different color palettes, backgrounds, and lighting styles to create mood for a final illustration of a character in a space. On Friday the 3rd, we will print out our digital artwork and show them off to family and friends! 

All materials are included in the cost of the camp. Students must bring lunch.

Watercolor Still Life (Teens ages 14-18)

January 2 & 3, 2025

(3pm - 5:30pm)

Instructor: May Jernigan

This 2 Day Watercolor Intensive for Teen Artists empowers young creatives to create their own still life paintings using watercolor paint. During this course, students will learn the basics of watercolor and form, some observational drawing techniques and how to set up still life subjects. Students will leave with newfound confidence in their painting skills along with a  finished watercolor painting!

All materials are included in the cost of the camp, but teens may bring a few small preferred still life subjects to reference from 
(ex. Trinkets, fruit or vegetables, plants, vases, plushies…) (Instructor will also provide subjects to choose from during class).
