Water Soluble Oil Painting for Beginner to Advanced Artists

Water Soluble Oil Painting for Beginner to Advanced Artists is a class designed for artists of all levels to explore applications of water soluble oil paint. Beginner students will follow the instructor through structured painting demonstrations, and experienced painters will work on independent projects in a studio environment. Beginners will complete 2 paintings over the 8 weeks – one following the demo and one of their choice. Experienced painters will complete at least 2 paintings over the course of the class – the content and size of their work will be subject to their individual taste. All students will be given individual feedback and support from the instructor. Group critiques will occur periodically at the end of sessions. 

What to expect on 1st day of class:

-Beginner Students (or advanced students that want a refresher) - please bring required colors, brushes, palette paper, water cup, rags/paper towels, and canvas paper. We will be doing some basic painting exercises. We will also discuss the structure of the class and goal outcomes. 

-Advanced Students – please bring a few reference images and an idea of what you would like to accomplish in this class. After demonstrating for the beginner students, I will spend time with each of you individually to hear your ideas and give personal feedback. You are welcome to watch my beginner demonstration if you need a refresher or jump right in to your own project. If you have taken this class before, I am happy to fit our time together to your needs.

If you must cancel, please email (info@stlouisartistsguild.org) or call STLAG. A refund will be given only if cancellation occurs seven days prior to the first day of class. No exceptions. Refunds will be processed minus a $25 withdrawal fee per course registration.
