Anatomy for Intermediate to Advanced Artists

March 24 - May 19 (skip May 5) 2025

8 Weeks, Mondays, 6-8:30PM

Instructor: Mel Tychonievich

Anatomy for Intermediate to Advanced Artists is a class designed to familiarize students with constructive human anatomy within the context of perceptual figure drawing. Each week, students will focus on developing a structural understanding of different muscle and bone groupings in the human body, and then learn how to apply these constructions to a live human form. The class will alternate between a lecture and life drawing format – one week students will learn about structure and the next week they will apply it to drawing from the live model. This class is best suited for students who have already taken at least one introductory figure drawing class.

See syllabus for material list, and plan for each week of class.

Ages 18+ The model for this course will be nude. A parent/guardian must sign a waiver to allow any minor to take the course. If you are registering a minor, please contact the Education Coordinator to request a waiver.
